This project involved construction of four new build warehouse units totalling 304,000ft². The buildings are developed on a speculative basis, the site itself is partially on the footprint of an old sand/gravel pit and landfill site.
Part of our value engineering solution was to employ ground improvement techniques instead of piling to three of the four units. Removal of piling enabled an improved programme and reduced the amount of work that would have been required in clearing obstructions from pile positions. As well as constructing the units our works also included s278 works with highway widening, new estate roads, creation of new parklands amounting to approximately 50 acres of new landscaped areas.
